How Our Perfume Alternatives Stack Up Against Luxury Brands

You don’t have to pay luxury fragrance prices for a luxury fragrance experience. At Perfame, our mission is to make the world’s best fragrances more accessible to all. Our premium quality, fairly priced imitation fragrances allow you to experience high-end fragrances, without having to pay steep prices.

Perfame fragrances are inspired by the best of the best from luxury brands and niche fragrance houses. With dozens of options in every fragrance category, there’s something to satisfy every fragrance enthusiast’s scent preferences. But how do these imitation fragrances stack up against the designer scents they’re inspired by? Let’s take a closer look.

Elixir No. 15 vs. Black Phantom by Kilian  |  $49 vs. $275

Elixir No. 15 captures the delicious luxury of Kilian’s Black Phantom, a beautifully balanced gourmand. Both scents open with heady notes of rum, dark chocolate, coffee, almond, and heliotrope, then bloom into lush caramel, sugar cane, sandalwood, and vetiver. With a complex blend of warm notes, these scents have a mysterious, sensual allure.

While they’re similar in scent profile, these two scents are starkly different when it comes to price. At just $49, Elixir No. 15 is an affordable alternative to Black Phantom, which comes with a hefty price of $275.

Elixir No. 55 vs. Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel |  $49 vs. $122

Inspired by Chanel’s immensely popular Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum, Elixir No. 55 is the perfect all-occasion floral fragrance. Like Coco Mademoiselle, Elixir No. 55 begins with a burst of orange, bergamot, and orange blossom, then settles into a romantic heart of turkish rose, jasmine, mimosa, and ylang-ylang. They share beautifully warm base notes of patchouli, white musk, vanilla, vetiver, tonka bean, and opoponax.

Elixir No. 55 and Coco Mademoiselle are both sophisticated, feminine, and bright, and either is a lovely choice for a signature scent. But with a price tag of $49 compared to Coco Mademoiselle’s $122, Elixir No. 55 is a much more budget-friendly option.

Elixir No. 62 vs. Richwood by Xerjoff |  $49 vs. $295

Like Xerjoff’s Richwood, Elixir No. 62 is one of the best scents in the chypre fragrance family. Both begin with an invigorating burst of tangerine, bergamot, and grapefruit. They also share a rich heart of damask rose and black currant, and a lush base of patchouli, sandalwood, vanilla, labdanum, and musk.

These citrus-forward rose scents are both beautiful options for dates or, really, any occasion where you want a little extra allure. But the high-end perfume Richwood comes at a steep price of $295, while Elixir No. 62 has a more accessible price of $49.

This creates a beautiful blend of spiced, airy, and woody notes.

Many people love the sophistication of Baccarat Rouge 540. But with a price tag of $435, few can afford this ultra luxury fragrance. Elixir No. 29 offers the same lovely composition of notes, but at a much more affordable price point of $49.

Elixir No. 71 vs. Virgin Island Water by Creed |  $49 vs. $345

Elixir No. 71 is inspired by Creed’s Virgin Island Water, a fresh fragrance with a sunny blend of floral notes and green notes. These tropical scents both begin with a blend of coconut, lime, white bergamot, and sicilian mandarin, then share a spiced heart of ginger, ylang-ylang, Indian jasmine, and hibiscus. White rum, sugar cane, and musk act as the base of each scent, creating the impression of drinking a tropical cocktail by the ocean.

Both Virgin Island Water and Elixir No. 71 will transport your senses to a tropical island vacation. But with a price of $49 compared to Virgin Island Water’s $344.99, Elixir No. 71’s vacation package is much more accessible.

Elixir No. 38 vs. Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle |  $49 vs. $295.00

Inspired by Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle, Elixir No. 38 is a floral scent with an air of mystery. Like Portrait of a Lady, Elixir No. 38 begins with a lush blend of rose, clove, raspberry, black currant, and cinnamon. Both scents share middle notes of patchouli, incense, and sandalwood, and base notes of musk, benzoin, and amber.

Elixir No. 38 and Portrait of a Lady are both powerfully sexy, feminine scents. But Elixir No. 38 is priced at $49, while Portrait of a Lady is priced at $295. Both are high-end scents, but only one has a high-end price point.

Elixir No. 82 vs. Oud Ispahan by Dior |  $49 vs. $150

Elixir No. 82 is inspired by Dior’s Oud Isaphan, a romantic oud fragrance. Both scents begin with leathery labdanum, then sink into a heart of rose, patchouli, and saffron. They each finish with a luxe, woody base accord made of agarwood, sandalwood, and cedar.

Oud Isaphan and Elixir No. 82 are both boldly romantic, with an opulent heart of rose petals and spice. Yet, Elixir No. 82 is priced at $49, while Oud Ispahan is firmly in the luxury price category at $149.99.

Elixir No. 14 vs. Apple Brandy by Kilian |  $49 vs. $230

Inspired by Kilian’s Apple Brandy, Elixir No. 14 is a crisp, delicious gourmand. These aromatic, fruity scents begin with notes of cardamom and bergamot, then melt into a fresh aroma of apple, rum, brandy, pineapple, vanilla, and moss. Apple Brandy and Elixir No. 14 share base notes of ambroxan and cedar, which add lovely depth to the scents’ crisp apple core.

These captivating fragrances share the same lush blend of notes, but are quite different in price. Kilian’s Apple Brandy has an ultra luxury price point of $230, while Elixir No. 14 has a much more affordable price of $49.
